About "Radiant Fanfare"

"Radiant Fanfare" is a good example of beginning band writing that that doesn't dumb down music for this level.  Often we hear music for the beginner that simply is musically childish.  "Radiant Fanfare" offers moving lines that require various sections to play with rhythmic accuracy and at the same time provides enough repetition to make students feel secure.  Great care is taken to ensure that even the smallest of bands is able perform the "Radiant Fanfare".  Learn more about the piece at pdfbandmusic.com.

March Regal

"March Regal" is an excellent march for beginning band. The form is traditional with a key change in trio and even a woodwind obbligato accompanying the melody--- very Sousa like. First clarinet does cross the break.

Sound Fundamentals Band Book

In 2014 I wrote the Sound Fundamentals Band Book #1 and posted it on the  PDF Band Music website as a free download.  My thinking about the project was two-fold.  First, I knew that there are many schools that simply did not have the money to run beginning band programs and I hoped that my small contribution would help those in need.  Secondly, I wanted to write a method that progressed more slowly.  The band methods on the market today are excellent and the technology connected with these books is awesome.
