Beginning Band

Variations on a theme is a fun piece of music for your second semester beginning group.  The theme (Twinkle Twinkle)  is stated in unison and variations follow.  Each variation is of increasing difficulty.  Also, each section of the band is featured. An interesting way to program "Variations on a Theme" would be to repeat the short drum interludes and at that time develop a short narration which illustrates the progress of the band. Parents are sure to be  wowed at the advanced sound of the last variation.
