John N. Klohr (1869 - 1956) an American composer, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. A valve-trombonist by trade, Klohr played in vaudeville bands as well as Henry Fillmore's concert band. He also worked as editor of band and orchestra music for the John Church Publishing Company. The Billboard is a "circus march" and was written in 1901 for the Billboard Music Industry Magazine. The arrangement by Lee Shook maintains the integrity of the original march and, yet, makes this classic march playable by level 2 bands.
