The Three Ring March
|The Three Ring March|
The Three Ring March is a tribute to the marches written for the great circuses in America by Karl King and Henry Fillmore, and even Sousa himself. These were typically exciting marches which were played faster than military march music. In this composition, the rhythms are syncopated and accented. The use of accidentals will help students practice combinations of fingerings not always used. Three clarinet and three trumpet parts are included. The melody is passed to the lower voices at one point to give the march contrast and added interest. The students will enjoy practicing this piece, and the audience will have fun listening to it.
