'Open Highway' is a groovy light rock chart. With a laid back feel, this piece features long soli sections for the Trumpets, Saxes, and Trombones with optional solos in the Tenor 1 and Trombone 1 parts. There is also an extended drum break in the chart to give your drummer a chance to shine. Chords in this piece are open and light and give the band a chance to work on tightening up entrances and tuning chords. This piece is a real crowd pleaser and will definitely get your audience ready to hit the Open Road! 'Open Highway' is scored for small jazz ensembles and includes optional parts for Flute, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, and Horn in F. The piano and bass parts are notated and all ranges are modest.

Great chart! My kids really enjoyed it, it has a unique vibe and opportunities to introduce simple improvisation. Very accessible for for a good middle school, or developing high school band.
