January March, written for 2nd or 3rd year players, is a spirited concert march that contains a wealth of valuable teaching material for young bands. All sections get an opportunity to play the melody complete with march style articulations and dynamic expressions that are clearly marked in the score. Instrument ranges are limited to the concert Bb scale and the orchestration helps to insure that this piece will work for bands with limited instrumentation. The percussion scoring includes a variety of beginning level rudiments and will be enjoyable for your young percussionists to perform. January March will make an excellent concert opener or closer. |
