Hava Nagila |

Grade 1 |
Hava Nagila means 'let us celebrate' in Hebrew. The original melody is probably from Transylvania and lyrics were added in Palestine in the 1920's when Hebrew was revived as a spoken language. The opening cadenza style solo for oboe is cued in other parts, but could be played by any instrument. The ranges throughout are limited to level one music, but some of the rhythmic figures are slightly more difficult. This arrangement of "Hava Nagila" is a worthy addition to the young band music library.
