"First March" is a solid sheet music selection for beginning band students. Ranges are limited to six notes and rhythms include only whole, half and quarter notes. Every section is featured at some point and doubling parts is common. This is a good piece to teach independent counting as the bass parts have separate rhythms throughout. |
