This medium tempo pop-bossa chart has a light 1960s vibe.  The pleasing melodies and clever harmonies flow seamlessly on top of the classic beat. For the developing jazz ensemble there is much unison and soli playing. The trumpet high note is G above the staff.   There are solos for trumpet and tenor both written or improvised.  Enhanced instrumentation includes parts for Clarinet, Flute, F-Horn, Vibes, Baritone BC, Baritone TC, Violin, and Tuba.

I purchased Desert Wind. The song is very level appropriate. My 8th grade band is really looking forward to getting to work. It is in a similar style to Morning Sun, which was a previous 8th grade bands favorite song.

Boss-rock style. Good block writing that can be done with a smaller group. Includes parts for non-standard instruments which is a huge plus for a small program. Written out solos, piano parts, bass line.
