Lady Bug is a work for second year jazz students. The solid ensemble passages compliment the bossa nova rhythm. The improvisation section uses the pentatonic scale, the easiest to play without hitting a sour note and it fits every harmony. Sample improvisations are provided. This laid back bossa is sure to be a crowd pleaser and student favorite. Piano and bass parts are notated. All ranges are appropriate for 2nd year bands. |
