This piece was inspired by the beauty, majesty and reverent wonder I feel when watching a particularly colorful sunrise. Aurora was the Roman goddess of the dawn and the name seemed ideal for a hymn honoring a divine entity that brings such beauty to us on a daily basis. 
This arrangement offers a wonderful opportunity for band directors looking for quality music with non-traditional instrumentation. The flexible scoring options in this arrangement allow each conductor to find the best musical results possible for any combination of instruments.
