Haydn Dance Stanzas |
Jeffrey T. Parthun, Sr. |
Grade 2 |
Haydn Dance fills a void in traditional educational ensemble music due to the instrumentation. Because of this rare but interesting combination this piece is playable by musicians at many grade levels. Each player has a chance to play the melody as well as taking on accompaniment roles. The baritone begins with the melody but tuba 1 takes over at 17 and tuba 2 becomes the leader at 33. After a brief unison passage the opening phrases return the baritone to the top spot.
